Cegléd is often referred to as the Mecca of drummers due to the fact it has hosted Europe's only drum museum since 1992 and the International Drum and Percussion Gala has been organised in its sports arena since 1993.

During the history of these galas, outstanding musicians have accepted our invitation such as Steve Smith, Jojo Mayer, Will Calhoun, Tommy Campbell and Horacio Hernandez.

We will welcome around 2000 guests from all over the country and from abroad. The venue will gain a festive appearance to match the occasion: the concert is accompanied by a grand-scale percussion instrument exhibition and the exhibitions of the related arts. The guest of honour of the sixteenth drum gala is Professor Peter Erskine, drummer and composer (Stan Kenton, Weather Report, Steps, and Diana Krall). A life achievement exhibition will be organised in honour of Peter Erskine on 14 May at the Town Hall, putting on display the instruments and relics that he has donated to the Museum of Drums. The exhibition is open on the day of the gala and awaits visitors.

The percussion instrument exhibition opens on the day of the Sixteen International Drum and Percussion Gala on 15 May at 3:00 p.m. and can be visited at the venue of the gala.
